Ballet Folklorico Puro Mexico [BFPM] has been active within Toronto Ontario for 15 years, continuously working hard to maintain a solid repertoire of colourful traditional Mexican dances. BFPM currently consists of over 50 members and is proud to host beginner and advance classes.

Our mission consists of the following three pillars:

  • To promote Mexican culture in Canada by teaching the rich heritage of Mexican traditional dances.
  • To provide a space for inspired people from all ages and races who feel passionate about Mexican culture and its dances.
  • To support organizations and events that promote inclusion and well-being within our communities in Ontario.

Since our establishment, we are proud to have taught over 150 dancers in our organization from different nationalities and ages.

Our organization participates annually in various key events within Toronto and its surroundings such as the Mexican Fiesta in London Ontario, The Carassauga Festival of Cultures in Mississauga, Hispanic Fiesta at Mel Lastman Square, the Harbourfront Centre’s Day of the Dead Festival, MexFest at Yonge & Dundas square and the Scotiabank International CHIN picnic, being the only Mexican dance organization to win first prize within the folklore competition.

In addition, we are also committed to support various organizations that help different communities such as the annual Bicycle Rodeo organized by the Niagara Region Police and ENLACE where they provide information about road safety to Mexican migrant temporary workers. We also feel proud to support HOLA Latin group at their participation during PRIDE celebrations every year. We have brought our Mexican dances to senior homes, schools, churches, police events and universities to name some.
